Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our hardware prototyping process, pricing, and capabilities.
General
What does Raonebytes do?
We are a specialized hardware prototyping platform. We handle end-to-end services from board schematics to physical prototypes, helping startups and enterprises build functional hardware before mass production or capital raises.
Who can work with Raonebytes?
Anyone with a hardware initiative. We work with startups needing proof-of-concepts, enterprises requiring validation units, researchers, and individual inventors.
What types of hardware do you specialize in?
We build connected devices and embedded systems, complex multi-layer PCBs, wearable sensors, and industrial automation. We also take on larger systems including drones and UAVs, robotics and autonomous mobile robots, and autonomous vehicles. An optional AI add-on is available for projects that need on-device intelligence.
Where are you based and who do you work with?
Raonebytes Technologies Private Limited is based in Koramangala, Bengaluru, India. We work with startups and enterprises worldwide.
Do you sign an NDA?
Yes. We sign a non-disclosure agreement on every project before any technical work begins, so your concept, design files, and intellectual property stay confidential.
Pricing
How is pricing calculated?
Pricing is cost-based and depends on the product type you select — connected device, drone, robot, or autonomous vehicle — plus any optional AI add-on. Our cost builder gives you an itemized breakdown of components, engineering time, assembly, QA, and shipping. Connected-device projects typically start around $5,000, while drones, robots, and autonomous vehicles start considerably higher. You receive a fixed quote within 24 hours.
Do I have to approve the quote before work starts?
Yes. Nothing begins until you review and approve your fixed quote. Once approved, we move to the deposit and project kickoff.
What are the payment terms?
After you approve your quote, a 50% deposit begins component sourcing and engineering. The remaining 50% is due before physical delivery of your completed prototype.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. All costs including engineering time and component procurement are shown upfront before you submit a build request.
Timelines
How long does delivery take?
Timelines scale with complexity. Simple prototypes can be completed in 2–4 weeks. Complex industrial systems may require 8–12 weeks. You define your timeline during the initial project scoping.
What happens after I submit a request?
After verification and initial payment, we schedule a kickoff call to finalize requirements. During the build, you receive regular updates via your customer dashboard.
Can I make changes mid-project?
Minor adjustments are permitted. Major scope changes will require a pause, a revised cost estimate, and a new timeline projection.
Technical Capabilities
Which microcontrollers do you support?
We primarily work with ESP32, STM32, Arduino ecosystems, and Raspberry Pi compute modules, scaling up to fully custom PCB architectures.
Do you provide firmware and software support?
Yes. We write bare-metal firmware, deploy RTOS environments, and can build custom web dashboards or mobile control apps to interface with your prototype.
How do you handle enclosures?
We use industrial 3D printing and custom injection molding to design robust enclosures that match your aesthetic and environmental durability requirements.
